"The Saint of The Sacred Heart"
St Margaret Mary Alacoque who lived between the years of 1647 and 1690, Fostered The Devotion to The Heart of Jesus. Since then, The Church has welcomed such a Devotion, for it Brings to the attention of Mankind The Mercy of God, and His "Heart for the Miserable" which is what the Latin Word "Misericordia" litterally means.
Even though our sins may be as numerous as the stars in the night sky, Our Beloved Lord came to Redeem each one of us. The most Amazing thing is that since God has no "Universal" Concept of Humanity, but rather sees each one of us as The "Only" person for whom He came to die, it was for "me" that He Created the world, that He was Born in the stable of Bethlehem, that He lived for 30 years a life of Silent labor, Preached for Three Years, was Condemned, Crucified, Died and Rose from the Dead.
Therefore my Love Must be a Response to Jesus's Life in Its Entirety. How could I Not fall in Love with One so Tender and Merciful, especially when keeping before my eyes my own Profound Unworthiness.
Redemption therefore Must be Understood as a "Personal Event," between He and I, to do otherwise could dilute my Understanding of The Incredible and Merciful Condescension that my Lord, my God and my All offers to me as his adopted son or daughter.
How can I Love Him More each day? How can I not Divest myself of all other Loves but His, realizing that it is only Because of Him that I am truly able to Love others in a Holy and Chaste manner.
Lord, make my Love like unto Thine, so that The Heavenly Father, at the moment of my death will Recognize, not my years of wickedness and Sin, but will Find Only Thee Dwelling within my Heart.
God Bless You
